ABOUT ME
I write content that keeps people reading
My talent is breaking down complex ideas into accessible, entertaining, and educational narratives. I demystify everything from debt and equity to sovereign defaults and the Powell put. I also write with empathy about the systemic injustices in our economy, and how hard it is for many American households just to tread water.
Before striking out on my own, I spent over six years at Dow Jones MarketWatch, covering public finance, markets and investing, and the housing market. Before that, I was the sole central banks/economics reporter for Investor’s Business Daily. I started my journalism career at Debtwire, which was then owned by the Financial Times, covering municipal bonds.
I got my master's degree from the Columbia journalism school and my bachelor's from Boston University. New York City is my home, and my beautiful basset hound, Beverly, takes up most of my time when I’m not writing.
